Library Notes--8/28/2014

This evening (Thursday) is the last-of-the-season Town House Forum, with Jim Rooney -- musician, award-winning music producer and author; and poet Jeffrey Harrison, often featured on NPR's "The Writer's Almanac" at 7pm.

The library will be closed on Monday (Labor Day).

New titles include "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and his Years of Pilgrimage" - Murakami, "Lisette's List"- Susan Vreeland, " "The Long Way Home" - a new Louise Penny (!) (as an audiobook also), "Strange Shores" - Arnaldur Indridason...

A celebration for all the children who kept Reading Logs this summer!
Sunday, 6:30 pm. 
Please join Emily & Laura ( from the Friends of the Morrill Library) for a short celebration to congratulate our young readers.

The library has some new DVD's in the collection, including "Bidder 70", a documentary about Tim DeChristopher, a keynote speaker at the Symposium this weekend; "Divergent", and "Orphan Black, Season 2".

Library Notes--8/14/2014

The Town House Forum continues Thursday evening at 7pm, with Jeff Sharlet, journalist, author and teacher of creative non-fiction, along with some of his Dartmouth students who are participating in the "40 Towns" project. As always, feel free to come early and bring a picnic. Next week the speakers will be M.T. Anderson, especially known for his young adult novels, and Gregory Maguire, who writes for readers of all ages.

We hope many of you can make it to the Town House to enjoy the start of this year's Town House Forum ------
Thursday evening at 7, or come early, with a picnic, and bring friends. Writers Howard Norman and Jane Shore will be the first guests.
