Library Notes--5/6/2016

Please return all LUV audiobooks and DVD's by Monday, so they can soon be returned for a new collection.
From Weds., May 11 - May 18th, the library will be staffed by our wonderful volunteers. You can leave InterLibrary Loan requests, but they will not be searched till after May 18. 

The Reading Group's next pick:  novelist Ann Patchett's memoir, "This is the Portrait of a Happy Marriage".  They will meet Thursday, May 26 at 1pm.

Thursday, 1 pm: the Reading Group meets to discuss the book "An Unnecessary Woman" by Rabih Alameddine. All are welcome.

Library Notes--4/30/2016

Have you noticed that a treasured item has been missing from the library? The large portrait of Justin Morrill, painted by Constantino Brumidi is no longer in its place above the mantle. 

The Trustees had an opportunity to send the painting to Barry Bauman, a retired conservator who now only works for non-profits and does not charge for his time. He  has worked on other Brumidi paintings and studied at a land grant college, both factors that led him to accept Morrill’s portrait for restorati...
