If you’ve ever wondered how the library manages to provide a wide array of
services to hundreds of patrons with only one part-time employee, the
answer is pretty obvious to trustees – through the generosity, commitment
and talent of our many volunteers. Our volunteers do much more than work at
the circulation desk – although that is certainly crucial to our ability to
maintain open hours for four days a week. They also help us run
fundraisers, oversee our endowment, help out with special projects, pitch
in on building maintenance jobs and guide us when we’re struggling with
some of our technology. And, of course, the Friends of the Morrill Memorial
and Harris Library, which has become increasingly vital to our success, is
an all-volunteer operation.

The trustees certainly recognize how fortunate they are to receive this
level of support. We write not only to express our heartfelt gratitude to
the many who donate their time, but in hopes that Strafford residents also
recognize their enormous contribution.
