Summer vacation starts today and we welcome children to participate in the summer programs at the Morrill Memorial & Harris Library. The theme this year is "Dig into Reading". Students can come in any time to start a summer READING LOG. We strongly encourage all kids to read over the summer -------- yes, to keep up and improve on their reading skills --------- but mostly to enjoy discovering a new world in each new book. The "logs" will stay at the library and children are welcome to come in as often as they like to add to their list and borrow more books. Our "SUMMER FUN AT THE LIBRARY" will again be on Monday evenings, July 8 - Aug. 12, at 6:30 pm. Flyers were sent home with students from school and we'll soon post the schedule. We have some great programs geared to school age kids, starting with a visit from naturalist Kurt Valenta on July 8. STORYTIME for preschoolers (siblings are welcome) will meet weekly July 12 - Aug. 9, on Fridays at 10 am. Some new titles include (fiction): Strafford author Bob Johnston's "Between Tides", "And the Mountains Echoed" - Khalid Hosseni (in audio also), "Silver Star" - Jeanette Walls, "Transatlantic" - Colum McCann, "The Son" - Philipp Meyer, (mystery): "Bad Monkey" - Carl Hiaason, "Redeemer" - Jo Nesbo, "If You Were Here" - Alafair Burke, (non-fiction): "A Dog walks into a Nursing Home" - Sue Halpern, (YA): "The 5th Wave" - Rick Yancey and " The Moon and More" - Sarah Dessen. The book sale is in 3 1/2 weeks! Donations are gratefully accepted any time (please no encyclopedias, text books, computer books or moldy items).

This Saturday, Kasaundra will volunteering at the library ( 9 - 12 ),so if you have any questions about downloading audiobooks or e-books through the library, stop in and she can help you (between helping other patrons ).The biggest complaints seem to be :1.
